Business Days Calculator
This calculator counts business days — Monday through Friday — between two dates, or adds a number of working days to a start date. Weekends are skipped automatically. From a Monday to the following Monday is 6 business days inclusive; adding 10 business days to a Friday lands two weeks out. Public holidays aren't subtracted, so check your calendar.
The formula
Step day by day from the start to the end date and count only weekdays. To add working days, advance the date and skip any Saturday or Sunday until the count is reached.

Frequently asked questions
- Does it account for public holidays?
- No — it skips weekends only. Holidays vary by country and employer, so subtract any that fall in your range yourself for an exact working-day count.
- Are both the start and end dates counted?
- When counting between two dates, both endpoints are included if they're weekdays. A single weekday range from a date to itself counts as 1 business day.
- Can I count backward?
- Yes. When adding, enter a negative number of business days to step backward through weekdays to an earlier date.
