9,588 days total.

Enter a date of birth and this calculator returns the exact age in years, months, and days as of today or any date you choose. Born March 15, 2000 and measured on June 14, 2026, that's 26 years, 2 months, 30 days. It borrows days and months the way a person counts age, and shows the total days lived too.

The formula

age = whole years, then months, then days, borrowing where needed

Subtract the birth date's year, month, and day from the reference date. When the day or month goes negative, borrow from the next-larger unit — exactly how you'd count an age by hand.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Enter the date of birth

Type the birth date in the YYYY-MM-DD field, or pick it from the date control your browser shows.

  2. 2

    Choose the reference date

Leave it as today, or set any date to find the age on a past or future day — a birthday, an anniversary, a milestone.

  3. 3

    Read the exact age

You get years, months, and days, plus the total number of days between the two dates.

Frequently asked questions

Why show age as years, months, and days?
Because age isn't a plain subtraction — months have different lengths. Borrowing days from the previous month gives the calendar-correct age people actually use.
Can I find my age on a future date?
Yes. Set the reference date ahead of today to see how old you'll be on a specific day, such as a graduation or a birthday.
Does it count leap years correctly?
Yes. The day count uses real calendar dates, so February 29 birthdays and ranges that cross a leap day are handled accurately.
